Working from home is a dream for most people, but it can fall apart when they find themselves far less productive than they were when working on site. Avoiding distraction can take time, but you can greatly improve your odds of success by making a fully functional home office. Furniture, organization, and storage are the three main elements that can keep you motivated at work while still in the comfort of your own home.
Only populate the room with what is needed such as office furniture, supplies, and practical equipment. Take measures to secure a high level of privacy. That might mean adding heavy curtains or even simply requesting your family to respect your need for solitude during your work hours. That doesn't mean, however, that a few plants, family photos, or other miscellaneous décor should be avoided altogether.
