The chair should allow for posture change while still providing the body with full support. There should be no position in which the spine, neck or legs feel uncomfortable or pinched while seated, in fact it's time to go square, or at least half square - right angles is how we should be sitting. Chairs are available that employ a suspension technology, assuring proper weight distribution from seat to back as the chair is straightened or reclined. This should help eliminate stress related injuries.
In order to minimize your distractions, you'll need to choose a quiet location or be mindful of how you place your office furniture. Choose the most quiet and isolated room in the house if possible, but be sure that there is sufficient light (preferably from outdoors). If the only available room is in a nosier area, consider soundproofing the walls (foam egg crates can be bought cheaply and provide some insulation). Move your main workspace, such as a computer desk, away from the noise sources.
